SWEROAD is a privately owned  limited company with more than 35 years of experience. The company was governed by the Swedish Transport Administration from 1982 to 2018. Our business concept is to provide consultancy services internationally to transport administrations outside Sweden within the Road and Railway transport sectors. Our vision is to enable our Clients to achieve a transport system conducive to sustainable human welfare by providing services that are efficient and timely implemented and to the satisfaction of the Client.

Tanzania, Improvement of Road Safety and Data Collection 22/01/2018

In January 2018 SweRoad has signed a contract  with Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) financed by the African Development Bank (AFDB). The overall goal of the project is to upgrade the Tobra-Koga-Mpanda (342.9 km) and Mbinga-Mbamba Bay Road (67 km) to bitumen standard, during which the road safety audit shall be carried out.

Serbia, Road Rehabilitation and Safety Project (RRSP) 28/12/2017

In December 2017 SweRoad has signed a contract with the Public Enterprise "Roads of Serbia" to certify Road Safety Auditors. The overall goal of the project is to improve conditions on state road network by rehabilitating 1,100 km of roads, increasing road safety, strengthening capacity and developing institutional coordination in the field of road and traffic safety. The aim is to provide training and subsequent certification of minimum 50 - 60 trainees, divided into 4 groups with maximum 15 trainees. The service will be provided in Belgrade.

SweRoad to be divested

Ukraine, Advice on Electronic Tolling, Weigh-In-Motion and Automated Speed Enforcement Systems Designs. 25/04/2017

In April 2017 SweRoad has together with Grant Thornton Ukraine signed a contract with The State Road Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) to implement ITS development project in Ukraine including three main components: electronic toll collection or e-vignette (ETC), weigh-in-motion (WIM) and automated speed enforcement (ASE) as well as the integration among them. The overview of the best international practice for developing and implementing integrated ITS solutions with regard to WIM, ETC and ASE.

Laos, Detailed Design, Project Implementation Supervision and Support 17/09/2017

In September 2017 Sweroad signed a contract with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in Laos. The project covers three parts, first, performing climate resilient periodic maintenance and routine maintenance works program in the six provinces, including technical assistance for design and supervision of works. Second, carrying out routine maintenance of provincial and district roads in the Project provinces, consisting of roads selected by GoL in accordance with the respective AWPBs. Third, Provision of technical and operational assistance for the design and supervision, procurement, quality assurance, contract management, and other technical management of the works

Ghana, Driver Licensing and Vehicle Examiner Training Courses. 24.04.2017

 On April 24th 2017, SweRoad commenced a three plus three week intensive training in Ghana for the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA). The Vehicle Examiner training course is given for approximately 20 Vehicle Examiners from DVLA and five Traffic Police Officers. The course outline is designed to give the participant theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to carry out professional vehicle inspections on different types of vehicles with focus on defects that can affect road safety. All participants will as part of the training inspect vehicles on the road. Focus will be on heavy trucks and public transport vehicles. The participants will also learn how vehicle inspections are performed in a modern well-equipped inspection hall and how to assess the results from computerised testing equipment.

 Mauritius, Road Safety Audits and Training of technical personnel. 21.03.2017
In March 2017, SweRoad signed a contract with the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and Land Transport (Land Transport Division) in Mauritius. The assignment involves the carrying out of Road Safety Audits along existing classified M, A & B Roads in Mauritius and Training of technical personnel on Road Safety Audits for existing roads and new road projects.

 Bosnia-Herzegovina, Improving the climate resilience of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s road network 06.03.2017

On March 6th 2017, SweRoad commenced a Climate Change Adaptation project for improvement of Bosnia & Hercegovina’s (FBiH) road network. The contract is signed with The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) with funds from the Central European Initiative to support Bosnia & Herzegovina in establishing an institutional framework and introducing international best practice on identifying and managing climate risks to the country’s road network

 Myanmar; Rural Roads and Access Project. 19.01.2017

In January 2017, Sweroad has together with our local partner Myanmar International Consultants Co Ltd been engaged directly by the Asian Development Bank to assist the Ministry of Construction in Developing the Asset Management Program for Myanmar Roads. It is a 20 month assignment were the consultant’s role is to assist Public Works Department.

 Qatar, Road Safety Awareness and Campaign. 18.11.2016

SweRoad is together with VTI providing specialists within Road Safety Awareness and Campaign to the Government of Qatar. The objective of the assignment is to develop guidelines for evidence-based design of publicity and awareness campaign that will support change of the road user’s behaviour, attitude towards traffic behaviour and knowledge in order to support the objectives of the National Road Safety Strategy 2013-2022.

 Vietnam, Extending Community Inclusive Performance-Based Road Maintenance for Local Road Networks in Vietnam.

On October 2016, SweRoad has together with local partner IPTE - Institute of Planning and Technical Engineering, been engaged directly by the World Bank to assist the Directorate of Roads under the Ministry of Transport in Consulting Service for Extending Community Performance-Based Road Maintenance for Local Road Networks in Vietnam.


 Ethiopia, Technical Assistance for Modernization of the Ethiopian Roads Authority. 21.10.2016

 SweRoad commenced the services for a contract for Ethiopian Roads Authority for “Consultancy Services for the Technical Assistance for Modernization of the Ethiopian Roads Authority through Technical Audit and Quality Management” on 21st of October 2016.
The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a loan from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of Ethiopian Transport Sector Project in Support of Road Sector Development Stage IV projects for modernizing the Ethiopian Roads Authority’s project planning, procurement and design contract management.
