Institutional twinning project  MA09/ENP-AP/TP15 ”Support to Strengthening Road Safety in Morocco” (Sweroad being Junior Partner) Swedish Transport Administration (in cooperation with ISTED)

2010-2012

 To provide MET - and specially its central Road and Traffic Directorate (DRCR) and Regional and Provincial Subdivisions (DRE and DPE) with regulatory, administrative and technical instruments with contents being closer to the EU ones and whom adoption by competent Authorities will allow to enhance the launching of the second Strategic Integrated Urgency Plan for Road Safety ( PSIU II).

2005-2008

 To improve road safety in Morocco by development and implementation of a strategic emergency plan for road safety. (Twinning project between Swedish and Moroccan Road Administrations), The project consists of the following components:
·         Technical and Management tools for evaluation and implementation of the road safety strategy.
·         Design standards for urban infrastructure and road systems.
·         Identification and characterisation of accident prone zones in urban areas, black spots.
·         Design standards for road infrastructure in open country.
·         Winter maintenance management systems.
·         Emergency service management.
·         Training, information, awareness, inspections and sanctions for improving road safety.
·         Vehicle Safety.

 Development of a Road Safety Plan for Morocco
